Cherating Beach Malaysia

"We've just spent ten days at Club Med Cherating. We've previously stayed at Club Med Phuket and it was great to see that each Club Med has its own flavour and style. We absolutely loved everything about CM Cherating.

1. Resort
   The resort is phenomenal. There is something for everyone from the family-friendly massive resort pool (which includes a shallow section for the little ones) to the adults-only gorgeous zen pool, beautiful beach and beautiful walks with lots of wildlife.

2. Zen pool and beach
   I have to mention this separately as this was an absolute gem. You can take the 5min train ride from the resort (one every half an hour) or you can take a beautiful jungle walk (there is a path and I highly recommend doing this walk) that takes you there in ten mins. The zen pool has its own staff and small bar. It has views to die for over the ocean. It is also conveniently located next to the water sports beach where you can do sailing, kayaking, safe swimming or take part in the many activities like beach BBQs, beach volleyball etc.

3. The best resort for families
   We have a 16yo and 11yo. Both had an absolute ball at Teen club with Andrea which made them feel like they were part of the team from Day 1. We basically didn't see our kids other than breakfast, dinner, night shows and excursions and they both said it was the best holiday they've ever had.

4. Great buffets
   A great deal of variety daily with lots of choices. You could choose from Asian, Japanese, Carvery, Malaysian, Italian, Fast food, Salad bar, specially plated entrees, dessert bar, bakery, juice bar and sodas. We're not big drinkers so I can't comment on the alcohol other than the odd delicious cocktail we tried. One of my kids is quite fussy with food and he was very happy with the daily choices of pasta, pizza, salads and roast dinner.

5. Activities and excursions: like in every Club Med, the list of activities on offer is staggering. We enjoyed the pool activities, kayaking and yoga. Our kids tried absolutely everything. As a family we also booked three extra excursions (extra fee) which I want to mention here as we all felt they were fantastic: baby turtle release, mangrove cruise and firefly night excursion. We got to see a bit of Malaysia outside of the resort and made great family memories.

6. The people:
   [...]Club Med is about the experience. The moment you're welcomed into the resort you feel you're part of a family. The staff know you and your kids by name [...]. Every moment of our stay at Club Med Cherating was filled with joy, smiles and 100% sense of relaxation - even when we were partying late, dancing at the Neon Party (highly recommended by the way). So, if you want to make magic memories with your family, have fun trying out lots of different activities, want to eat delicious food, sip amazing cocktails and enjoy fabulous entertainment Club Med is for you.
