Cancún Mexico

Club Med Yucatan has the best location on the entire Cancun peninsula. The resort is beautiful and there are different options for beach/pool/atmosphere. The service is great, the rooms are clean, and the staff is friendly. We are very comfortable traveling to this location with our children. It's safe and secure.

This was my 7th time going to a Club Med resort having visited 4 others (Ixtapa, Punta Cana, Guadeloupe, Martinique) in the past and Cancun for the first time. The quality of the GO Team at CM Cancun was definately above average. A special shout out to the water team of Paolo, Maxx, Sara, Maxx, William, and Julio. Super fun, super attentive and Maxx gave us a great lesson in how to operate the catamarans! Aquagym, powerwalk/run, volleyball, and achery with Obed, Chava, and Carla were just as excellent as were the various fitness classes. Truly a great GO team and we had fun sitting down with them during various meals.

We were located in the Grenate building and had a great ocean view overlooking the snorkelling area. This location was perfect located near the main complex but far enough away to be peaceful. For us, this was the ideal location. Aguamarina seemed far unless you had kids in the kids/baby club or were more into pickle ball as the water park and courts were right there. Otherwise, the walk to the main complex was long unless you took the golf car shuttles. Jade is not our style but we did go for cocktails one evening it it looked beautiful. The other 3 buildings on the north end are similar to the one we were in but that section of the beach had a real sargassum seaweed problem... The room itself was very practical and my only complaint is that the AC could not be set lower than 21C. While not terrible, I would get hot at night.

I really loved snorkelling at the CM. At the designated spot where you can get masks and fins, you have to wear a life jacket. In this area, the reef is close and there is a good variety of fish. I even swam with a manta ray and spotted a barracuda! Closer to the Taco Arte restaurant bar, I was able to snorkel with my own mask and swim out to where the tour groups go without a life jacket. Bigger schools of fish can be found there as well as much larger parrot fish.

The food was generally good. You won't go hungry here even if you are a picky eater. I love Mexican food so was never disappointed with the variety of tacos, ceviche, guacamole, etc. We did do the Estancia steak house one night... and don't recommend it. Stick to the main Hacienda buffet or Taco Arte. At the Hacienda buffet, Alicia was encredibly patient with my sons high school spanish and he was very appreciative.

Unfortunately for CM Cancun, the main beach is located right where all the sargassum seaweed accumulates. It wasn't great.

While the seaweed on the beach was disappointing, the Club Med facility, staff and experiences was not.

I just returned from Club Med Cancun and had a terrific trip. The housekeeping staff was excellent and the food was great. I have to shout out to Sales Manager, Meghan. She was everywhere and so helpful. Very informative and attentive. I will be back and I hope Meghan will be there when I return.

On 26 and 29 April 2026, I went scuba diving at Club Med, Cancun at the Scuba Diving Center operated by Ancila Tours. I found the Ancila team to be competent and well-coordinated, providing instruction and services with attention to detail focused on each diver’s safety. In particular I mention Jorge, Oscar, Olga, Charles and Monica. On one dive, I observed a diver in trouble, the dive master quickly identified the problem and conducted the diver safely to the surface. The dive masters, boat captain and crew attended to each diver’s needs before, during, and after each dive. This assured a safe and enjoyable diving experience.
