Summer (November to April)
Summer is the most popular time to visit Mauritius and it’s easy to understand why. This season brings long days of sunshine, warm seas, and lush landscapes in full bloom. Average highs reach around 30–31°C, with plenty of opportunities for beach days, snorkeling, and water sports.
If you’re visiting in December or January, you’ll find gardens and forests at their greenest. A walk through the Sir Seewoosagur Ramgoolam Botanical Garden in Pamplemousses is especially rewarding, with giant water lilies, rare palms, and exotic flowers in bloom.
Rain is more likely between December and February, but showers are usually brief and quickly followed by sunshine. Cyclones are rare, occurring only once or twice a decade, and most visitors enjoy uninterrupted holidays during these months.
