Val d’Isère is a resort located on the Vanoise massif in Savoie. Formerly an isolated mountain village, Val d’Isère is presently a vast winter sports resort and is considered to be one of the best skiing resorts in France. It regularly hosts big sports competitions and is renowned for the quality and diversity of its amenities. It is about 1,800 metres high and you can do alpine skiing and cross-country skiing as well as snowshoeing, fat bike riding, snowboarding or speed riding.
Val d’Isère has 300 km of tracks and is also known for the beauty of its skiable area, which has the third largest surface area in the Alps. The station has a skating rink, toboggan runs and a snow park for children. You will also find numerous restaurants, skiing schools, businesses and everything else that make Val d’Isère one of the best ski resorts!
Did you know?
La Face de Bellevarde, located not far from Val d’Isère resort, hosted the 1992 Albertville Olympic Games. The 2009 World Skiing Championships also took place there. The magnificent tracks are open during winter, and you can see Val d’Isère village downhill.
